Ok, so she’s hell bent on Revenge. But long-time fans of Emily VanCamp also remember her as the ever-popular Amy on Everwood and as the victimized Rebecca on Brothers and Sisters.
When AStarWasBorn.com met her for our interview, in person, she’s really down-to-earth and trying to get as much interview time in as she can give, despite the fact that she has a bad cold. She’s also begging us not to get too close. Typical good manners for a woman from a middle-class family from the seaside town of Port Perry, Ontario.
It’s there that VanCamp had dreams of becoming a ballerina and even studied at the prestigious L’Ecole Superieure de Danse de Quebec, before she changed her mind and got into acting after visiting her first movie set.
Regardless of the profession, she seems to have followed a work ethic she probably learned in her dad’s pet feed store. At the age of 26, this is VanCamp’s third successful series and as viewers are riveted by what will happen next, one can’t help thinking that at the end of long shooting days, she might reflect on quieter times in beautiful Port Perry.
We bet she’s taken co-star/beau Josh Bowen there.

ASWB: When you go back to your hometown, what do you do?
EVC: I think, for me, it’s my family because I don’t get to see them, so family time first and foremost. But Canada is such a beautiful place, I feel like it’s often overlooked, which may not be a bad thing, because we don’t have that many people in Canada and it’s still very quiet and pristine and gorgeous.

ASWB: Do you have a favorite restaurant or spot when you go home?
EVC: I love Montreal because I studied ballet there for a long time, so as often as I can get there to see old friends and my old places and visit all my favorite little spots in Port Perry (Ontario) but no one’s going to know where they are (laughs).

ASWB: Travel books all have a “must-see”, what is your “must-see” for your hometown?
EVC: You should go to my dad’s animal feed shop and buy some dog food or something.
ASWB: What is the name of your dad’s store?
EVC: Brooks Feed Store in Port Perry.
